Teacher Aide
Location: Worland, Wyoming
Description: State of Wyoming is currently interviewing Teacher Aide right now, this position will be depute in Wyoming. Year-round position funded by a Federal grant, qualifying and working with students identified by Title I in the classroom setting, and one-on-one tutoring in Reading, Written Language and Math.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
- Plans & creates curriculum to help students address GED.
- Manages and interacts with students in classroom setting.
- Tutors students with one-on-one assistance in academic needs.
- Assists Certified Teachers with classroom supervision and individualized instruction.
- Corrects tests and work book papers and scores tests.
- Facilitates academic pre and post test achievement.
- Types case histories, documents, minutes or other recorded narrative from handwritten copy.
- Observes behavior of institution resident, and reports this to and discusses this with supervisor or in unit meetings, in accordance with goals and objectives of a therapeutic program.
- Surveys students on the playground to help prevent accidents.
- Performs security checks to assure that controlled equipment, appliances, utensils, cleaning agents, food items, or tools are properly stored and accounted for.
- Transports students.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with an Associate's Degree plus one year of experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the General Education Development content areas and language arts.
- Knowledge of mathematics, literature, social studies, history and sciences.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures established for the work system, acquired on the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Education)
PLUS
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction)

None
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must complete all mandatory State of Wyoming and Wyoming Boys' School training.
NOTES:
- FLSA: Non-Exempt
- Position includes full state benefit package
- All new hires or rehires starting in a non-exempt position on or after January 1, 2018 are required to be paid hourly.
