This position will provide engineering direction and support for both ongoing operations and development of new product lines. This position will apply proven a! nd strong field experience with grassroots production and process equipment sizing, design and engineering to all parts of a project’s life-cycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Resident engineering expert for Oil & Gas Production Equipment for the J-W Measurement Company staff.
  • Responsible for the design and engineering of production and process equipment including the evaluation of different scenarios to determine the best solution as well as sizing of all components including vessel sizing, MAOP calculations/hydrostatic test pressures, relief/control valve sizing, as well as ASME product design and validation.
  • Assist with the development of QA/QC inspections procedures.
  • Notifies management of any unusual design or application conditions and production or service issues.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new projects and perform an expense analysis as required.
  • Ensure engineering activities are c! ompliant with all applicable regulations, standards, and Compa! ny policies.
  • Implement engineering procedures that align with the project requirements and ensure the safe, practical application of learned theory in design interpretation and engineering concepts.
  • Responsible for the prompt, accurate submittal of all required reports and data.
  • Perform all duties in a safe, professional manner at all times.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • 3 years of oil and gas production equipment experience is required.
Computer Skills:
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications, databases, e-mail, and web-based applications
  • Working knowledge of various engineering/designing software programs such as
Engineering/Sizing: CALCit, PVElite, HYSYS

Drafting: Solidworks, AutoCAD LT

Simulations: ProMax, Chemcad, WinSim

Other Skills, Abilities or preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of liquid measurement is a plus.
  • Proven expertise with oil & gas production equipment.
  • Experience in sizing and designing separators/vessels and glycol dehydrators highly desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, ASME and National Board Codes
  • Ability to write legible, routine corresponde! nce and speak effectively as well as coherently with management and oth! er employees
  • Ability to motivate others to work together in the most efficient manner while ensuring that each team member is utilized to their full potential
  • Strong “Hands-on” experience with process simulation a plus
  • Experience with the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Working knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and! /or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus (these requirements can be met with the use of corrective lenses).

Work Environment:
Typical office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions while traveling as well as during inspections and field visits. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, falling objects, respiratory hazards, burns, falls and risk of electrical shock.
