Description: State of Wyoming is at the momment seeking for Family Assistance Worker right now, this vacancy will be placed in Wyoming. Provides information and refers individuals and families to programs and resources, i! ncluding self-sufficiency and/or self-responsibility or will assure safety and protection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides support of economic assistance programs which may include TANF, child support, Medicaid, food stamps, etc.

Determines eligibility for programs to assist individuals and families who meet the various income and asset guidelines within each of the programs.

Provides benefits timely and accurately while collaborating with other state and community partners for the health and safety of the public.

Assists with audits to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

Maintains computer databases and enters information.

Conducts client interviews to determine eligibility.

Maintains cases once approved.

Maintains public relations with community referral agencies and others.

Recognizes and provides intervention services for people in crisis.

Trains new emp! loyees.

Assists with hearings through written or verb! al testimony or exhibits.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of effective interviewing techniques including attitudes, behaviors, and value judgments that affect the worker-client relationship.

Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and manuals.

Knowledge of community and governmental resources and programs and how to access them.

Knowledge of agency computer systems and their application.

Knowledge of general office procedures.

Knowledge of state and federal criminal justice processes.

PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to applicants who are detail oriented, multitask capable, organized and able to prioritize, good communicators both orally and written and have customer service experience.
