Responsibilities
- Manage, coordinate, facilitate, or implement all 14 elements of OSHA Process Safety Management regulations and requirements, as well as support the EPAâs risk management plan at the facility.
- Personally provide leadership, counsel and technical assistance to the operation staff, technical staff, maintenance staff, safety staff, inspections department, engineering staff, and hourly employees in the field of process safety management to attain safety, environmental qua! lity, production, and cost goals.
- Assist in facilitat! ion of PHA/hazard evaluations for projects, unit revalidations, and incident investigations.
- Write or aid in the writing of mechanical, operational, inspection and daily procedures as well as written inspections, preventative maintenance plans and reliability programs.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators to track the status of PSM related programs.
- Bachelors degree in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Must have several years of refining or chemical experience with at least 3 years in process safety.
- Experience with design, inspection, operation, or maintenance of refinery process equipment.
- Certified in API 510 or 570. Certified to Level 3 ASNT NDE methods (UT, PT, MT, RT).
- Training in Root Cause Analysis and Risk Management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, procedures, and guidelines, specifically OSHAâs CF! R ?1900.119.
- Knowledge and experience in Mechanical Integrity Systems, ASME and API codes and recommended practices for inspection.
- Must be able to work a variable schedule when issues arise, particularly during unit Turnarounds, ?internal and external audits, and cases of emergency.
