Records Technician/FOIA Analyst

Records Technician/FOIA Analyst will provide support services to reduce a backlog of FOIA requests and reduce overall FOIA response times.

Must have Public Trust Security Clearance or the ability to attain a Publlic Trust Security Clearance.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Records Technician/FOIA Analyst : $105,000 - $117,000 annually

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Records Technician/FOIA Analyst Responsibilities Include:

  • Accesses pre-scanned images of the records containing the information requested in the FOIA/PA request.
  • Validates the requestor entitlement for the information requested, redacting information and applying exemptions as necessary, preparing the appropriate responses, and electronically submitting to Government staff for approvals.
  • Details of verification and review include information such as:
  • Subject/Requester name, address, information for accuracy.
  • Review Discussions.
  • Review Case Supporting Docs and/or Requester Docs.
  • If correctional facility, do not print to CD (when applicable).
  • Confirm Consent, when applicable, dependent on the nature of the case.
  • Verify responsive records correspond to request and correct subject.
  • Determine if the request is a FOIA or PA.
  • Update the case note file.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Records Technician/FOIA Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently and type proficiently.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish different kinds of legal documents and their purpose.
  • Ability to create and maintain tracking systems for the completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to think logically and to apply general principles to specific situations.
  • Ability to organize large masses of materials according to a logical scheme or in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision;
  • Ability to set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on image scanning and conversion equipment.
  • Knowledge of filing procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain files, including the ability to interpret and apply records policy and filing techniques in a variety of situations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
