Benefits to you
- We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees, including mental health coverage.
- The hourly equivalent for this position is $22.51 - $34.93.

Position Highlights
The
Washington County Circuit Court
in Hillsboro, Oregon, is hiring an Accounting/Cashier/Collections Clerk (Court Operations Associate) to join our team in the Accounting Department.
In this role, you will receive, receipt, and accurately record the payment of fines and fees received at the public service counter, through the mail, and over the phone for all case types. You will endorse checks, balance the cash drawer, prepare the daily bank deposit slip, and store deposits in the court safe. In providing customer service, you will answer questions about payments, balances, and filing fees, verify customers’ personally identifiable information, renegotiate payment arrangements, and refer clients to probation officers, collections agencies, or a judge as needed. You will also help debtors review the extended payment agreement affidavit, payment options, potential collections actions, and any fees that could apply to their cases.
Additionally, you will research and correct financial discrepancies, determine appropriate collection actions and balances owing on complex cases, review and monitor various reports, initiate new cases, stamp and route filings, update records, scan documents and correspondence, and provide coverage for other Accounting Department clerks.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents

- Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks that included using a computer to enter and retrieve information, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining accuracy when interrupted or distracted by a noisy work setting.
- Experience providing customer service to people who are facing trauma, challenging life circumstances, or highly stressful situations.
- Skill explaining processes, procedures, or policies to a wide audience.
- Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials.
- Skill in reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.
- Experience in cash receipting and control, financial reporting, collections, and/or banking/financial experience.
- Experience communicating in Spanish is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- This is a full-time position, and the work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per work week.
- Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required.
- Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.

- Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
