Job Description:

The Citizen ship Advisor supports our Purpose by developing our communication strategy to promote Company efforts in the areas of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). T his r ole will collaborate with various workgroups on programs and reporting and identify opportunities for improvement. The Citizenship Advisor is a strong communicator with a strategic mindset who is excited to be part of the T eam that d rives the future of Corporate Citizenship at Southwest .

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
Responsible for developing Southwest’s Corporate Citizenship strategy and roadmap including driving biannual Materiality Assessment in conjunction with partners
Responsible for developing strategy and goals for initiatives related to the Company's citizenship efforts; establishing, managing, and reporting on KPIs; and reporting on those goals as needed for internal and external audiences
Serve as strategic advisor on Companywide initiatives focused on ESG and corporate citizenship to the highest level of Department Leadership and work with all levels of Employees as necessary
Serve as lead for Citizenship Executive Steering Group, sets agendas, presents relevant information
Provide strategic oversight for the One Report to develop key indicators and metrics determined for the report. Ensures the Southwest One Report is aligned to appropriate frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN Sustainable Development Goals) and responsible for strategy for evolving the One Report over the coming years
Serve as internal expert on all ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD) to assist in determining direction for Southwest on appropriate indicators or disclosures to ensure we are hitting requirements and achieving best in class
Provide oversight for all external ratings and ranking inquiries to ensure our answers are accurate, transparent, and fully explained to achieve optimal results. Must demonstrate autonomy by leading strategy, gathering content from multiple sources, obtaining, and coordinating the proper approvals, and writing appropriately timed content or recommendations to be delivered on an extensive scale and platform
Work with Communication Teams to create vision for new stories and ideas across all departments to share with Customers to promote area of citizenship, social responsibility, DEI, and environmental sustainability
Maintain expert knowledge of this changing field and act as internal advisor to keep others informed
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge of corporate citizenship and the relationship and impact of Environmental, Social and Governance efforts
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Knowledge of project management, including the planning and execution of long-term projects coordinated across multiple Teams within the organization
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Skilled and technically proficient with Microsoft Office products– especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to produce multi page documents, charts, and reports
Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Must have exceptional organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to speak confidently in front of large and small groups, including providing counsel to Executive Leaders
Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
Preferred: Familiarity with reporting frameworks
Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Expert-level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:

Corporate Citizenship, ESG reporting, DEI, and Environmental Sustainability

Experience with producing annual reports focused on a triple-bottom line of people, performance, and planet

Licensing/Certification

N/A

Physical Abilities

Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Must be willing to travel for work as needed

Must be willing to work outside 8-5 hours as needed depending on the needs of the business

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $118,600 to 131,800 per year * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the
discretion of the company.
