With a mission to preserve, protect and inspire, Grand Teton Lodge Company is the concessioner in Grand Teton National Park operating the lodging, restaurants, tours and activities at Jackson Lake Lodge, Jenny Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village, Jenny Lake and Gros Ventre campgrounds as well as the Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club, which is located just outside the park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The on-property HR Director will be responsible for effectively planning, developing, and implementing a fully integrated human resources strategy for the Grand Teton Lodge Company and Flagg Ranch Company. This includes developing effective strategies to recruit and retain year-round staff, developing effective strategies and process to staff! , on-board, train and fully engage over 1000 seasonal employee! s, managing the dynamics of a highly diverse seasonal staff who live and work on property, developing recreational programs for seasonal staff, and collaborating with the National Park Service. In conjunction with support from Corporate Hospitality HR, this position will administer a wide variety of human resource programs in support of the propertiesâ objectives and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws, policies, and regulations. Additionally, this position is responsible for the Health & Safety programs, Security and Employee Activities for all year round and seasonal staff as well as co-leading Employee Housing with Operations.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and execute a comprehensive human resources strategy in support of the property's overall business objectives
Foster a culture of trust, respect, ethics, and collaboration by providing timely and accurate communication and foll! ow-up, leading by example, educating employees, and developing and executing programs like the Employee Assistance Program, recognition, events, and the Employee Engagement Survey
Provide leadership and direction to the HR team and ensure that tasks and projects are completed in a timely manner. Respresent the Human Resources function on the executive committee.
Develop and manage the Human Resources department labor and operation budget
Perform workforce planning and analysis in conjunction with operations to determine appropriate staffing levels; develop and execute a talent acquisition strategy for year-round and seasonal employees to meet operational needs. Partner with counter-seasonal properties to meet staffing objectives
Responsible for all training including Code of Ethics, New Employee Orientation, Seasonal Manager Orientation, and Vail Resorts Hospitality training. In conjunction with the operations managers responsible for the! development of department specific training programs
Provide ! leadership and oversight for the development, execution, and communication of employee recreation programs
Partner with corporate resources to administer our benefits program to year-round and other eligible staff members
Lead the employee engagement strategies to ensure a high level of employee commitment to the company mission and goals. Manage employee relations issues confidentially and in a timely manner
Ensure HR Policies, procedures, and processes are complete, accurately documented, updated on a regular basis, and compliant with Federal and State laws and regulations.
Serve as member of the Executive Committee and actively participate in strategic planning to drive short and long term business objectives.
Partner with NPS and Corporate HR to provide timely and accurate communication to VP/GM, NPS, and corporate HR regarding issues/concerns.
Provide oversight and management of the Health, Safety & Security functio! n including the workers' compensation program as well as Employee Activities.
Oversee HR Systems including PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, and the LIFT.
Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources
10 years progressive experience in resort HR or operations
8 years in Human Resource Management leadership role
SPHR/PHR
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to live and work onsite
Preferred skills:
PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, prior Park or Resort experience
