Canteen Specialist

Will work with the Canteen Manager by reviewing and scanning orders, ordering and receiving of merchandise, checking inventory, supervise felon canteen workers and deliver orders to felons insid! e the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintains a segment of a fiscal system and multiple databases.
Posts fiscal/statistical data, performs calculations, balances totals and verifies, sorts and sequences fiscal documents.
Investigates and either resolves issues with rejected transactions, out-of-balance conditions and system irregularities or brings to management attention if unable to do so.
Involved in routine tasks associated with A/P, A/R, including, but not limited to, tracking database entry, cash receipts, and collections.
Searches and disburses fiscal information pertaining to processes documents.
Assists in inventory of all fixed assets.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of State and Federal codes, regulations and related statutes.
Knowledge of basic accounting and business principles.
Knowledge of computer program applications, data management and record keeping.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be abl! e to stand & walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
PREFERENCES:
Associates Degree from an accredited University or College in Accounting Plus-1 year prior work experience
--Or--
3 years of progressive work experience in Business or Warehouse
The Wyoming Department of Corrections will only accept Degrees from accredited Universities or Colleges from a nationally recognized accrediting organization.
