Summary:
Provides leadership, oversight and training of subordinate technicians on a daily basis. Coordinates operational activities, delegates tasks and balances workloads of subordinate positions. Responsible for day-to-day activities within their department and ensures on-air signal integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:
Performs technical quality control checks on a variety of media

Performs extensive troubleshooting of problems involving the signal path, media, programming and logs

Responsible for on-air routing of content.

Evaluates and determines impact of service outages, recommends or performs preventative/corrective measures, and writes reports.

Ensures escalation and communicates with senior staff as required.

Direct team activities and actions during crisis situations; serves as the communications hub for the uplink, orchestrating phone, r! adio and intercom communications traffic

Prepares reports for external use detailing technical discrepancies

Documents technical discrepancies and reports problems to appropriate personnel

Participates in the development and implementation of processes, procedures and training materials while mentoring and training junior team members

Provides feedback to the supervisor on subordinate performance

Validates and responds directly to customer complaints

Uses character generators and on-air routers to provide customer messaging

Knows the role of all uplink departments in the delivery of programming

May perform in the role of supervisor during temporary situations such as illness or vacations.

Basic Requirements:
Prior audio and video or electronics experience

Associates degree in a related field and/or two years work experience in a broadcast environment

Ability to mult! i-task and remain calm in urgent and crisis situations

Ability! to use Microsoft Office computer tools to access emails, enter data, access databases, etc.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating manuals, instructions, procedures
