Chemtrade is one of the world’s largest suppliers of sulphuric acid, liquid sulphur dioxide (SO2) and sodium hydrosulphite (SHS), and a leading processor of spent acid, particularly in the U.S. Gulf Coast region. Chemtrade is also a leading regional supplier of sulphur and sodium chlorate, one of only two North American producers of phosphorous pentasulphide and also produces zinc oxide and water treatment chemicals. Chemtrade obtains these products from its own production facilities and through long-term marketing services agreements and distributes them to customers around the world.

SCOPE OF POSITION The Riverton Plant Manager is the sole proprietor of the Company assets at this location. This position is the identified “responsible person” for purposes of environmental regulatory reporting to the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States of America with civil and criminal prosecution liability as an individual. This position has the obligation to complete the various forms of reporting on the key performance indicators for the facility on a monthly accounting basis, with daily accumulation of specific metrics for traffic and environmental data. This position is obliged to prepare and defend an annual CAPEX and Period Expense budget for the facility. This position is solely responsible for the Community Awareness and Emergency Response education to stakeholders in the regional neighborhoods and with local government. This position must verify by hand signature all spending for the facility. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring an effective organization is maintained that is able to achieve company goals and objectives for the business (i.e. Responsible Care, RC-14001, Safety, Environment, Quality, Financial etc.)
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to the employees at the plant
  • Leading by example to develop a strong health, safety and environmental awareness culture consistent with the ethic of Responsible Care. A proactive continuous improvement approach with focus on waste and emission reduction, environmental sustainability and injury prevention
  • Motivating employees to work at peak potential and complete goals and objectives efficiently and effectively
  • Ensuring operating parameters are reviewed on a daily basis to ensure safe, environmental responsible and cost effective operation is maintained
  • Ensuring a quality system is implemented that includes identification of key process parameters, standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures and laboratory QA/QC protocols
  • Ensuring customer audits are conducted on a periodic basis to assist customers in the safe handling and storage of products
  • Ensuring professional relationships are developed with key stakeholders
  • Developing and justifying annual plant operating and capital budgets
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Strong technical and plant management operations background in the chemical industry preferably with a mechanical or chemical engineering degree Minimum 7 - 10 years managerial experience and proven ability to lead Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Strong technical writing skills Committed to continuous improvement of safety, environment, customer service, operations and quality performance Knowledgeable and effective in the use of standard computer software programs and database systems Ability to embrace the lifestyle and weather conditions presented in rural Wyoming (relocation assistance is provided)
