. This position is located in the High Desert District with a duty station of Rawlins, WY. The High Desert District includes significant natural resource and land management responsibilities. Examples of resources managed include the world's largest deposit of trona and the number two ranked gas field in the nation. The District includes a complex array of resource and land management issues that include oil and gas development, the transport of energy, management and protection of wild horses, and land conservation to include the Secretary's healthy land initiatives. DUTIES:
You will serve as a Senior Support Dispatcher (Logistics) located in an interagency dispatch center with high program complexity. The area involved encompasses federal, state and private lands within the dispatch center's area of influence. The center is responsible primarily for wildland fire preparedness, suppression support activities but may respond to all risk incidents as needed or directed. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of fire dispatch, logistical and administrative support functions.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Specialized Experience Requirements:
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-05 level are: receiving, filling, processing and tracking requests; organizing and preparing records for completeness; collecting, processing, and submitting intelligence information; using the computer for data input.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-06 level are: providing logistical support; coordinating with other centers; developing intelligence and information; recording and maintaining records and communication logs.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-07 level are: operating dispatch center; making recommendations for improvement; analyzing intelligence; directing others in dispatch duties; developing training.
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
To qualify for the GS-05 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the federal service as a dispatcher or in a directly related position
OR
successful completion of a 4-year course of study above high school
OR
have an equivalent combination of specialized experience and education.
To qualify for the GS-06 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service as a dispatcher or in a directly related position.
To qualify for the GS-07 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the federal service as a dispatcher or in a directly related position.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
Upon receipt of your complete application package, a review of your application will be made to ensure you meet the basic qualification requirements. Your rating will be based on your responses to the Job Specific Questionnaire and the information stated in your resume. If qualified, your score may range from 70-100 points. In addition, interviews may be conducted for this position. The interviews may be conducted on a pass/fail basis or may be scored. The job specific questions relate to the following knowledge, skills and abilities required to do the work of this position.

Knowledge of dispatch operations and procedures to process resource orders for personnel, equipment, supplies and aircraft for all types of incidents.

Ability to perform intelligence duties including statistics, weather information, and situation reports.

Ability to use computer programs to complete required records, reports and summaries.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing to coordinate and provide guidance to other dispatchers.
